The journey to the emerald hills to discover the enchanting beauty by coming close to the pristine charms of nature began on Friday evening at 3 o’ clock from Chennai (Koyambedu Terminus) and it literally took around 8 hours to reach Bangalore “Garden City” of India. And, from Bangalore it took another 6 hours to reach Coorg “The Scotland of India”(officially known as the Kodagu district).
HOMESTAY AT SITAPURA:
We reached Madikeri (the district headquarters) early in the morning and traveled few kms to reach our home stay located at Sitapura. The home stay was a charming one that is filled with greenery all around the place. Not only greenery, the home stay also domesticated three German Shepherd dogs. After a long and tiresome journey we took a short nap and had some refreshments to energize ourselves for long hours of photo shoot.
SACRED IRUPPU FALLS:
We packed all the equipments and accessories essential for the shoot and traveled towards Iruppu falls, located in the Brahmagiri hill range. As per the Hindus, Lord Rama and his brother Lakshmana passed by this region. They were in search for Lord Rama’s wife Sita. Lord Rama was thirsty and was looking for water. Lakshamana shot an arrow that struck the ground and oozed the river water. The beautiful resonating sound that the gushing waters make feels so pleasant and dramatic to watch.
Amidst the lush and verdant forest, the majestic waterfalls is one of the locations at Coorg to do an outdoor shoot. We had tough time to navigate through waters and we perched on huge rocks to capture the lovely couple. As we proceeded further towards the falls, we came across a hanging bridge where we could clearly hear the gushing waters running down the stream. As the sun had set, the cloud and sun merged together to create a blissful view ideal for silhouette shots. We packed our equipments and took fond memories alongside with us. And, we came back to our vehicle and left the location at sunset to reach our homestay at dinner time with campfire surrounding us. Not only a satisfactory meal but we even had a satisfactory day of shoots.
SUNSET JEEP DRIVE AT MANDALPATTI:
Mandalpatti, crowned at a height of 1600m, is situated at around 18 km from Madikeri. Evolving as one of the best tourist spots in Coorg, it is located on the way to Abbey Falls. You might have to endure a bumpy road ride but it’s just an added benefit for true adventurists. This serene and a wonderful place is a beautiful place to view sunset or sunrise and offers the best panoramic views.
The surrounding greenish tinge adds a natural beauty on earth and offers a pleasant experience. Moving away from busy city life, this place would be a must visit for an enthralling jeep drive. We had immense pleasure to capture the couple’s beauty amongst the nature’s beauty.
Don’t miss out the amazing amphitheater view of the sunset or sunrise from the top. We were deeply immersed in the adventurous experience that we always dreamed of, and we also made some good memories.
