As a team of wedding photographers, we know the value of stories in each and every frame. However, we always are practiced to take our cameras only during our events. We wanted to come out of our comfort zone, develop the habit of seeing beauty even in the ordinary.
We had decided to go for photo walks every month on a specific topic to improve our skills on storytelling, teamwork and photography as a whole. We definitely believe that this effort that we had taken as a team will impact in the wedding photographs that we make.
As planned and scheduled, we decided the first photo walk to be on the last Saturday of January in the year of 2018. Our team of photographers and enthusiasts decided to get out of their homes with their cameras and meet up at the designated location to walk around and capture beautiful emotions in and around Mylapore. Despite an event being held on the previous day, our team didn’t lose energy nor even thought for a single instant to postpone the walk, we all decided to assemble at our office premises on the day of the walk at 6 am. At around 6:30, we left the office premises and had a cup of coffee to lift our spirits and energy from all our sleepy mood.
As soon as we reached the location, we parked our vehicles at the parking spot near Mylapore temple tank. We all took our respective cameras and moved forward in search of photos that show emotions that can be depicted as stories. We found the streets were busy early in the morning despite being a weekend. Each and every people we saw were deeply immersed in their own work and didn’t even look around and made even a pose for our photos which proved their true dedication towards their own work.
As soon as we completed our photo walk journey, we had a small discussion with each and every one on their overall experience. We shared valuable tips with each other so that it would be immensely helpful for their future photowalks. We finished our walk with a delicious breakfast at Ratna Cafe and we later moved on to reach our office premises.
We hereby share some of the pictures that were captured during our first Photowalk of the year,
“It may be just a loo for us but for them, it’s their day-to-day living place”
“Two different stories in the same frame. This picture shows a huge difference and tells a lot of stories.”
“Waiting for something or someone irrespective of knowing whether it will happen or not”
“Bright future lies ahead only when you keep your surroundings clean”
“Do what you do at your best and success follows your way”
“Education breeds confidence. Confidence breeds hope. Hope breeds peace”
“Contrasting things makes life so interesting just like the picture”
