Maternity photoshoot is something that interests me, as a women photographer. I know how nice it is to carry that little one, something to cherish forever.. Here’s my experience with this lovely mom-to-be.
Keep going forward is the key! I just fell in love with the recent shoot i shot. Been almost three or four months since i shot anything with complete involvement and planning because of my wedding. I was extremely busy and was waiting for a shoot to explore.. I was desperate and then came this shoot 🙂
We had some good discussion with the client in choosing venues, dress, and we exchanged quite a few ideas over a phone call. Having discussed a lot of options we ended up opting the beach, and it was client’s choice. Beach is a favorite spot for anyone in Chennai but for me or for any other photographer its a very usual place. When they wanted to go to beaches near ecr which will be lonely and private , i chose marina because i wanted some raw elements, something else to be added in the frame. Glad i made that choice.
I along with my assistant dinesh reached the venue at 6am sharp!it was still dark. And the climate favored us through out the shoot. No harsh sun and it was a cloudy , breezy beautiful morning. Managed to get some beautiful pictures with the mom to be and with the family. Marina did not disappoint me, that shot where i wanted some raw elements turned out to be “the horse”. Had i chosen some other beach , i doubt if i would have got that shot. The horse shot is my fav of this album and i am in love with that!and the whole of this album.
I pushed myself from the comfort zone, to go a little mile forward for this shoot and what i got out of that is beautiful. We come across a lot of shoots and clients, but to get something unique you have to just move your asses out from that zone called the “comfort zone”
I shot these pictures using my off camera flash. Shot with 5D markIII and sigma 35mm lense.
PS: Had a unforgettable experience apart from the shoot experience.
We had our bags just 50mts away from us and we were so involved in the shoot that we missed to notice the man who robbed our bags. Thankfully i had my camera stuffs just with me but my personal belongings and client’s personal belongings were laying away. We did not lose anything as we got hold of the man but a lesson learnt!
Never keep your things away from you. Either have it just with you, or have your assistant take care of your belongings too. If at all we had missed something that day, the whole shoot would have ruined! I know its tough to carry all the stuffs along with you. So keep it simple. Never carry anything extra when you are out for the shoot. Never! Having said all that, here for you, a few shots from the album
